Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Education Program adjunct 1 position for the Division of Extension and Engagement and the Extension Clackamas County Office at Oregon State University (OSU).

This Education Program adjunct 1 (EPA1) position is located at the Oregon State University (OSU) Extension Clackamas County office in Oregon City and provides support to the Small Farms program in Clackamas County.

The North Willamette Valley region boasts a thriving agricultural area and has a strong demand for locally sourced, sustainably produced farm products. Clackamas County includes highly diversified farming operations. Small Farms tend to engage in marketing products directly to consumers, as well as scale appropriate wholesale markets. The Small Farms program also encompasses small-acreage crop and livestock farms.

Purpose of the position:
The EPA1 delivers pre-approved small scale farming programming and provides support to the Clackamas Small Farms program in Clackamas County. The Educational Program adjunct works with Small Farms faculty and staff to assist with the onsite customer service, organizing, coordinating, and marketing of the program.

Key Responsibilities This Education Program adjunct embeds the commitment of the university to inclusive excellence in all interactions and tasks performed and contributes to a safe, welcoming and respectful learning and workplace environment.

80% Programming and Outreach
   » Delivers approved non-credit educational programming on basic topics, workshops and seminars related to small scale farming.
   » In collaboration with the managing faculty member, cultivates and maintains community partnerships in Clackamas County.
   » Provides continuing support and networking with Clackamas County clientele.
   » Assists faculty and staff with the planning and logistics related to programs and events, including registration. Develops and maintains record keeping systems for programs including clientele contact information and media lists.
   » Collects data to register and enroll participants. Maintains participant records including input of online data. Collects and enters program evaluation data. Inputs and submits record of work performed and completes other university reporting requirements; e.g., time and attendance, travel and reimbursement.
   » Maintains equipment inventory list of all Small Farms equipment that resides at office.
   » Responds to phone calls, emails and walk-in requests from clientele with existing research-located resources. With sufficient professional development training and/or skills, answers basic technical questions, under direction of manager.
   » Collaborates with faculty to identify and engage local partners in community assessment as well as design and delivery of small farms non-credit programs.
   » Performs basic content updates and formatting and works with faculty on the development of new content for websites and newsletters.
   » Represents OSU Extension Agriculture and Small Farms by delivering small farms programming at community events including county fairs, conferences, workshops, etc.
   » Requires travel. tasks will include fieldwork, land visits, presentations, community outreach, event coordination, meet with regional colleagues to plan programs and respond to current program needs.

10% Community Engagement and Social Media
   » Assists the managing faculty member with the dissemination of general agriculture information, or directs to managing faculty member as appropriate, for farmers and/or other community members visiting the Extension Clackamas County inquiring about agricultural topics.
   » Develops and delivers outreach marketing tools and markets programs. Tasks include editing, formatting, and distribution of monthly e-newsletter, coordinating submissions for county-located community report, creating, distributing and managing press releases, websites, flyers, social media posts, web calendars and other forms of promotion for events.
   » Follows OSU and division brand guidelines, digital publishing standards and digital contact management data integrity practices for assisting faculty and staff with programmatic communications, marketing and engagement.

10% Other
   » Maintains program data and civil rights records for review and reporting.
   » Attends training opportunities to build basic expertise and consistent skills to assist faculty and staff with using digital communications, marketing and engagement technologies significant to position tasks.
   » Performs other tasks as assigned for Small Farms in Clackamas County.
What We Require
High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years of significant practice (paid or volunteer), supporting community programs that serve children, youth, or adults
OR Associate Degree and one year of work practice (paid or volunteer) which must be working in youth development programs, adult education, teaching, program delivery or related functions
AND
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated skill to work with diverse audiences.
Demonstrated skill to use computers for word processing, data management, and communications.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » Travel is required to support educational programming and services all over Clackamas County. tasks may include fieldwork, land visits, presentations, community outreach, event coordination, and meeting with regional colleagues to plan programs.
   » The EPA1 may participate in field tours and other outdoor educational events which may require walking on uneven terrain. Setting up some events will require moving materials and equipment to various locations. Educational events for the small farms program are often hosted in the evening or on weekends.
   » Primary worksite will be the OSU Extension Clackamas County Office.
   » Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
