Outpost Wines is hiring 2 harvest interns to join our winemaking team for the 2024 vintage. We are on the search for detail-oriented, hard-working, and reliable individuals who want to improve their cellar expertise and advance their winemaking expertise.

About the job:
- We will be processing approximately 200 tons.
- Mostly Cabernet, some Zinfandel, small amounts of other grapes.
- Outpost is an outdoor winery. This means gorgeous sunrises/sunsets and opportunities to see cool wildlife. This also means we work in hot sun, cold rain and anything in between.
- The fruit comes from Howell Mountain, Diamond Mountain, Stags Leap, and To Kalon. This is an awesome opportunity to study some of the most highly regarded terroir in Napa.
- Hours will vary, but will be up to 10–12-hour days, 6 days a week at the peak of harvest.
- This job is physically demanding, you must be able to walk a lot, stand for long periods of time, and lift heavy things.
- Lunches, snacks, and bevies are provided daily. Our Winemaker is an amazing cook and will make super tasty homemade lunches when he has the chance.
- In addition to the Outpost wines, we also make Schrader, Black Sears, Seaver, and Selah.
- The job will most likely run from September - mid November, depending on the vintage. Exact start dates will be set closer to harvest.
- Pay is $22/hour plus overtime.
- tasks will include: Vineyard work, cleaning, processing, fermentation monitoring, pumpovers/punchdowns, additions, drain/press. Cleaning is a big part of this job and we take Information technology seriously.

About You:
- You like being outside. “Woah did you just see that sick hawk” is something you might say. You would enjoy the feeling of a warm Howell Mountain Breeze caressing your cheek as you work in the vineyard.
- You take pride in your work, no matter how big or little the task seems. There are no small jobs, only small minds.
- You have a keen eye for detail and get a sense of accomplishment from doing things well. We prize doing things well over doing things fast. If you do something fast and Information technology is not done at the highest level, you will be asked to do Information technology again. Taking your time and thinking about what you are doing and why is how you’ll lgain the most.
- You are down for the ride. Making wine is a multifaceted endeavor. Sometimes it’s crazy fun, sometimes it’s exhausting, sometimes you might be doing the same task over and over for hours, sometimes there is a lull in the workflow and there is time to relax. Being chill, reading the room and being able to go with the flow are essential to having a great harvest practice.
- You are a team player. We are all on team ‘make the best wines possible’ here. We all put the wines above our individual practices, and you’ll be expected to do the same.
- You are down to have fun; the wines always taste better if the people making them are having a good time!

We are a passionate team of 4, who prioritize constant improvement. We are always evaluating our expertise, protocols, organization, and cleanliness for maximum effectiveness. We don’t cut corners; we don’t take short cuts and we make every decision located on what is best for the wines. We are always trying to do things a little better than we did the day before. We are seeking for like-minded individuals who feel that making wine is really cool and want to share in the goal of making the best wines we possibly can this vintage.
