Position Description

DEFINITION:
To provide classroom instruction to college students through lecture, demonstration, and laboratory exercises, handouts, responding to questions and testing. Course load may include but is not limited to Music Appreciation, Music Fundamentals, American Music, Ensemble Conducting and Applied Lessons as needed for the AFA in music

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
   » Receives direct supervisionand/or technical direction from the department chair
   » Exercises no supervision.

tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Functions:
   » Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students
   » Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activities
   » Develop and prepare supplement materials to enhance textbook lessons
   » Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade record individual scores
   » Provide classroom demonstrations on various equipment and machinery; develop laboratory assignments to provide hands on practice as appropriate
   » Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
   » Maintain and submit all required paperwork in a neat, accurate and timely fashion, including but not limited to: class rosters, registration forms, pay sheets, attendance forms and grade rosters
   » supervise the implementation of policies and procedures related to required teaching area and in conformity with CFCC policies and guidelines
Other Important Functions:
   » Assess the relevancy and impact of various lessons and recommend improvements as needed
   » supervise and participate in field studies and assignments; travel with students to provide assistance and instruction as appropriate
   » Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

   » Communicate clearly and respectfully, both verbally and in writing

   » Operating assigned equipment
   » Handling varied tasks simultaneously
   » Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities, which may include the following:

   » Bending, stooping, climbing, or lifting up to 50 pounds
