EOE M/F/V/DPhysician adjunct Program - Principal Faculty Member Qualifications · Masters level degree from accredited PA program or other health-related field required. A doctoral degree or availability to pursue is preferred. · Current NCCPA certification with current licensure in Pennsylvania, or license eligible required · Minimum two years of physician adjunct clinical practice required · expertise of the functions, responsibilities, and scope of practice of the Physician adjunct profession required · Teaching and/or administrative practice in PA education or other health-related field preferred. Evidence of interest in research/scholarly activities preferred. · Possess positive team building/oriented mindset, flexibility, and outstanding organization expertise · capability to network with outside individuals, organizations, and facilities · Collaborative spirit and commitment to interprofessional education · capability to travel · Excellent oral, written, intrapersonal, and computer expertise (including Microsoft Office®, Google Drive®) required Job responsibilities: · The principal faculty member will work with the Department Chair/Program Director, Vice Chair/Associate Program Director, Medical Director, Director of Academic Education, Director of Clinical Education, other PA faculty, staff, and SJU faculty to ensure a high degree of educational excellence and demonstrates qualities needed to provide a superior medical education in conformity with ARC-PA standards · tasks involve collaboration with all program faculty and staff · Be able to act as a course or module director and manage all responsibilities therein · As a principal faculty member, and in conformity with ARC-PA Standards, the PA faculty member has responsibility for assisting the team with: o Developing the mission statement of the program o Selecting candidates for admission to the program o Providing student instruction o Evaluating student performance o Academic counseling of PA students o Assuring the availcapability of remedial instruction o Designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating curriculum o Administering and evaluating the program o Assuming any other related tasks necessary to develop and maintain an effective program · Assisting the Director of Clinical Education with initial and continuing clinical site evaluations · Provide additional support to the Director of Clinical Education in the evaluation of student performance. · Support program efforts in the procurement and maintenance of clinical sites · Assist in the recruitment of Program faculty and staff as needed · Participate in Committee meetings at the programmatic and University level · Attend conferences and designated programs pertinent to physician adjunct education and clinical practice · Utilize release time to pursue clinical practice, professional development, service, and scholarly activities · Actively contribute to the Program's continuing assessment process · Other related tasks as assigned
