Employment Category Limited Duration Job Summary This is an Internal Employment Opportunity This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Instrument Technologist- Mechanical: Research Design and Fabrication Specialist position for the Water Engineering Research Lab at Oregon State University-Cascades. This is a limited duration appointment expected to last approximately 9 months from the appointment begin date. The position of Research Systems Design and Fabrication Specialist plays a crucial function within the university's water engineering research lab. Tasked with designing and fabricating experimental facilities, this specialist contributes significantly to the advancement of desalination, lithium extraction, and wastewater technologies. What We Require Five years of instrument shop practice designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision mechanical scientific and/or medical instruments, equipment, and systems. The practice must include responsibility for equipment and instrument design with minimum (general) supervision and indicate the capability to serve as a technical resource person to other instrument technicians and related personnel; AND One of the following: Completion of a Machinist Apprenticeship program; or An Associate's degree in either Mechanical Engineering Technology or Machine (Manufacturing) Technology; or A Bachelor's degree with major courses in mechanical engineering or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
