This position is designated as ?mandatory' and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions. Primary Purpose of Position This is a Facility Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Trades) at the Journey level with a specialty in HVAC. The position is to be a fully functioning in a particular trade area. Additionally, this position is expected to be able to execute all general maintenance work at the contributing level. This position may also be given the opportunity to execute/lgain another trade discipline either at the contributing or journey level. Tasks may include maintenance, repair, placement, fabrication, installation, alteration, construction and desiqn of facility components in assiqned zone or core maintenance. Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. practice in the trade(s) areas related to the position's function may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Other Work Responsibilities » Working professionally in and around students, faculty and staff. Departmental Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education » Associates Degree in HVAC/R or Mechanical Engineering Technology. » expertise of trade tools and equipment in Facility HVAC » Residential HVAC/R -w/ Heat Pump practice » Light Commercial HVAC » Computer expertise - Proficient in work order systems, and Microsoft Applications, Google Suite. Necessary Licenses or Certifications » EPA 608 Certification or capability to obtain upon hire. » Valid Drivers License or capability to obtain upon hire. » Positions may be required to possess and maintain required certification, licensure, educational level, and/or practice criteria as applicable to the tasks being performed and follow applicable building codes.
