Education/expertise

Required: Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Sociology or a Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate semester hours in a qualifying field. Good communication expertise.

Preferred: Master's degree in Sociology. Bilingual.

Preferred: Some teaching practice at the community college level. Some practice with instructional delivery via distance learning.

Position Description

Closing date: Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a final candidate has been selected.
Applications submitted for continuous recruitment opportunities will remain active for 6 months.
The primary work of this position is providing instruction for students in assigned classes in Sociology. Instructors conduct necessary research to plan, develop, implement, deliver and evaluate assigned instructional courses/programs; evaluate student performance; and serve as academic advisor to students as defined by college guidelines on a part-time basis. Instructors are also responsible for maintaining records and submitting reports in a timely manner. The work is performed under the supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences. Some evening work may be required.
