The Event adjunct Specialist position is a part-time position with clerical responsibilities that work with and support the functions of the Student Centers; including Office adjuncts, Computer Lab adjuncts, Welcome Center adjuncts, Student Ushers, Event adjuncts, and Central Reservations Office adjuncts. Customer service specialists are directly supervised by professional staff within the Department of Student Involvement and leadership abilities. The Event adjunct Specialist is expected to fulfill the following general functions and Job responsibilities: • Administrator: Complete all necessary paperwork, forms, tasks, and maintain logs as required. Attend scheduled shifts and know the staff manual protocols. • Customer Service: Acexpertise and greet students, staff, faculty, and University guests. Know campus resources and departmental functions to work with faculty, staff, students, and guests of the University to connect each to resources as appropriate and assisting in navigating through campus. Keep the manager informed. Help create a welcoming environment. • Clerical Aid: Be able to file records, maintain records/logs, answer telephone calls, and relay messages to the appropriate contact. Be able to operate common office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, calculators, and fax machines. • Set Ups for Event adjuncts: Be able to read operations reports and complete all setups and break downs for events. Safely lift and arrange tables, chairs, and other items required for set up completion. Break down tables, chairs, and other items all over the university's student centers and Brody School of Medicine. • Security: Provide for the safety of patrons during events, enforce facility policies and capacity, deter theft, and be expertiseable of emergency evacuation/lock down procedures. • Team Member: Attend all training sessions, support staff team, and help when needed. Maintain positive communication with staff and all Student Involvement and leadership abilities employees. • University Representative: Serve as a positive function model. Serve the needs of students, staff, faculty, and University guests. Be mindful of social media tags/posts and represent Student Involvement and leadership abilities as well as East Carolina University positively. Preferred (Majors, practice, GPA, etc.) candidates should be enrolled as a student and be in good academic standing with East Carolina University, as well as local, state, and federal laws. Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.00.
