Job Summary The Family Resource Center is seeking an Early Care and Education Center Site Director. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Family Resource Center (FRC) Early Care and Education (ECE) Center Site Director (Site Director) is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Little Beavs ECE Center, a 28 slot, high-quality, campus-located early care and education program on the Bend campus. This position requires specialized education, expertise, and training to administer and lead early care and education (serving children birth to 5) and family programing, service efforts, and related initiatives. The Site Director is responsible for training, supervising, and mentoring ECE professionals and OSU student interns.

The Site Director reports to the FRC adjunct Director of Campus ECE within the Division of Student Affairs. This position is informed by the fields of Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Human Development and maintains a working expertise and compliance with the Oregon Child Care Division licensing standards and is expertiseable about the trends and best practices in the field of early care and education.

Key Responsibilities 75% Program Administration:
Plans, develops, coordinates, administers, executes, and assesses all aspects of the ECE Center programs, including maintaining the appropriate state licensure and quality assurance certifications/accreditations (NAEYC and QRIS/Spark 5), providing/organizing staff (teacher) training and development, recruitment and outreach to families, and disseminating program materials and information. Establishes, manages, and maintains collaborations and partnerships with various OSU departments, units, colleges, and programs as well as resources outside of OSU in support of children and families accessing the Center and in support of students interning in the Center. Works with the Family Resource Center adjunct Director of Facilities and Operations on facility related projects and program budget development. Co-coordinates grants obtained by the Family Resource Center on behalf of the center (i.e. CCAMPIS, Baby Promise, Pre-school Promise, etc.). Ensures program quality through regular observation and mentoring of program staff and student interns. Ensures an inclusive and positive work environment that engages and retains staff. Intentionally build family partnerships by leading tours of the center, creating newsletters, leading family events, and parent education opportunities. Demonstrates sensitivity and responsiveness to families. Takes a proactive approach to problem solving. Manages through emergent, unusual or crisis situations with good and sound judgment.

20% Supervision:
Provides supervision including plan, assign and approve work; respond to grievances; hire/fire (or effectively recommend); Onboard new staff to all policies/procedures, prepare and sign performance evaluations/reviews of employees including classified and/or professional faculty. Provides balanced, constructive feedback at regular intervals, acknowledging prosperous results, and promptly addresses suboptimal performance. Supervision and assessment of OSU HDFS interns, and potentially student interns from other post-secondary campuses. Coordinates with the FRC adjunct Director of Campus ECE on developing on-going professional development and trainings for center staff, and communicates regularly, informing the adjunct Director of any staff, children, or family concerns. Ensure all staff comply with mandatory reporting requirements. Ensure a quality management system to verify all health and safety requirements and licensing regulations are met. Maintain that all staff are diligently compliant to all health and safety practices, performing audits as required.

What You Will Need
   » BS or BA in Human Development, Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field.
   » 2+ years' practice as a program administrator (Director, adjunct Director, etc.) in a licensed early care and education setting responsible for management and supervision of adults.
   » 1+ year of practice in a birth to three ECE program
   » Demonstrable contributions to promoting and enhancing diversity in early care and education.
   » Effective verbal and written communication.
   » Must be enrolled in the Oregon's Office of Child Care Central Background Registry by time of appointment.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

   » 5+ years a program administrator in a licensed early care and education setting responsible for management and supervision of adults.
   » 3+ years of practice in birth to three ECE program

   » practice teaching or working with children who have special developmental needs.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule On-site active engagement in an early care and education context interacting with adults and children including work outdoors. Center hours will be 8am-5:00pm. Some evening/weekend hours could be required.
