We champion a range of highly acclaimed Bordeaux style wines from Sonoma County. The state-of-the-art production facility provides the tools and resources necessary for the most intricate, creative, and experimental winemaking objectives.***Potential opportunity for full time employment*** We have positions available in the lab as well. You will have an opportunity to work with wines from: Aperture Devil Proof Vineyards The Setting Valette Montage And more… Lunches will be provided Monday-Friday all over harvest! Cellar Intern Position Description: Under general supervision, the winemaking intern will assist the production staff in all areas of harvest-related activities in the cellar including crushing, pressing, juice/wine movements, sanitation, and barrel work. candidates must be able to work full-time from August through December, and willing to work overtime and weekends. Essential tasks: General sanitation of all winery and harvest equipment Grape receiving, sorting, crushing and pressing Brix/Temp analysis on fermenters and barrel lots Juice analysis and data tracking Pumpovers and punchdowns Draining and pressing tanks Juice and wine additions Juice/wine racking Barrel filling, racking, and topping Barrel sanitation, and maintenance Accurately follow and complete work-orders under general supervision Forklift operation *Management retains the discretion to change or add tasks to this position at any time Minimum Requirements: Able to work uninterrupted from August through December capability to work 40+ hours per week, may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays during harvest. Previous practice working harvest preferred (cellar or vineyard) but not required Must be able to provide proof of U.S. work authorization without sponsorship, or work visa by the date of hire. expertise, expertise, and Abilities: Excellent organizational expertise Able to work under pressure with many different people Able to work rapidly and accurately, performing multiple tasks simultaneously Total commitment to safety and leading by example. Physical Requirements: Frequently sits, stands, walks, twists/turns, bends, kneels, reaches overhead, and climbs.? Able to work at various heights, on ladders, catwalks, and man cage, and in tight or enclosed spaces.? Must perform physically strenuous tasks including lifting heavy objects (50+ lbs).? Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and capability to adjust focus. capability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery sounds including forklifts and pumps, and different types of alarms and alerts). Work Environment: Must have a reliable mode of transportation. Works with chemicals including caustic soda, sodium percarbonate, citric acid, sulfur dioxide, and peracetic acid. Exposure to gas fumes such as sulfur gas. Works with high temperature, high pressure hot water and steam.
