Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) CASS Student Project Management adjunct position for the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Center for Applied Systems and Software (CASS) exists as a student internship program serving various software development clients. This hourly student position will work closely with selected CASS customers and the CASS Software Development Group (SDG) Director on project management needs.

Join CASS working on the front end of an exciting and significant project with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality with statewide impacts. This work provides a unique opportunity for a student to lgain the ins and outs of real-world project management. Additional CASS customer projects may be assigned as availcapability permits.

The Student PM adjunct will help to document and execute project management tasks working directly with the CASS SDG Director. This includes doing the following:
   » Attend meetings and take notes.
   » Draft, proofread, and maintain various project management documents.
   » Build flowcharts and data visuals in order to organize and visually share project.
   » Reading project information and providing summaries or recommendations.
   » This project work can count towards hours needed for Project Management Institute (PMI) certifications.

Student jobs/internships average 1-3 years in length. In addition to the technical and development expertise students gain, they also lgain how to work as a member of a team, gain an appreciation of the importance of deadlines, and other facets of running a business such as planning, budgeting, resource allocation, documentation and communication.
   » This position is responsible for reporting to work at a scheduled time and checking in with their CASS manager
Position tasks
   »Self-directed -Student PM adjuncts are assigned a project or multiple projects by the CASS SDG Director or other CASS full-time staff. They are then expected to complete work items related to that project-either self-selected or assigned to them-within a reasonable amount of time. Student PM adjuncts can also expect to use task-tracking software to report their progress on work items.
   »Drafting and Updating Documentation - The Student PM adjuncts will aid with project management required documents such as project plans, communication management plans, subject matter summaries, status reports or diagrams and flow charts. Excellent English writing and verbal expertise are a must.
   »Support CASS Customers - This position will participate in customer meetings and may have additional tasks in customer support on projects.
   »Help is available and encouraged -In order to complete these work items, Student PM adjuncts are expected to seek help when Information technology is needed, either from full-time staff, other students in CASS, or from the internet. You will receive training and support!

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications
   » Have at least four terms of schooling left
   » Excellent English written and oral expertise
   » Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
   » Available to work between 5 and 20 hours per week depending upon project needs. Work time is flexible but must be between 8am and 5pm M-F Pacific Time.
   » Portray professionalism, especially when meeting with customers

   » Interest in Project Management.
   » capability to be responsive and communicative with all project members.
   » capability to prioritize work tasks effectively.
   » Organized some type of project or event or is aware of activities to prosperously do so.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » CASS is currently allowing on-site, remote or hybrid work environments.
   » Typical work-schedule is at least 2-hour-consecutive periods between 8am and 5pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday.
   » Minimum 15-hours per week with some flexibility depending on project needs. Some weeks may involve less hours than the maximum, but leadership abilities will work to provide as many opportunities as reasonably possible to fill employee's available time.
   » This position requires students to be taking a minimum of six credit hours per term, with the exception of one ?term off? (taking five or less credits) per year.
