THE OPPORTUNITY:
Founded in 1827, PHS is an internationally recognized not-for-profit that uses horticulture to advance the health and well-being of the Greater Philadelphia region. PHS's major programs include the award-winning Philadelphia Flower Show, on-the-ground Healthy Neighborhoods greening efforts in more than 250 neighborhoods, a network of more than 20 Public Gardens and Landscapes, and diverse content and practices for Members and Home Gardeners.
Horticulture has proven potential to transform inequitable health results thatfrequentlycorrelate with inequitable environmental conditions. Research on the work of PHS and others has shown that cleaning and greening vacant lots, planting trees, and building community through horticulture effectively and affordably reduces violence and improves mental and physical health. The PHS Marketing teamis responsible forsupporting and amplifying the work of PHS to and beyond the large and diverse community of members, donors, partners, and volunteers that we rely on to deliver our programs.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Creative Production Designer, your responsibilitywill be to develop andmaintainthe PHS (Pennsylvania Horticultural Society) brand by creating visually appealing graphics and digital media. You will collaborate with all departments to produce innovative and high-quality assets that enhance and reinforce the PHS brand across various mediums, including event signage, digital platforms (such as websites and social media), advertising campaigns, and internal/external presentations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reports to Art Director
• Ensuring that the organization's graphic standards and branding are implemented correctly
• Designing and editing various print and digital collateral social and website graphics, brochures, posters, postcards, handouts, infographics, advertisements, logos, invitations, signage, exhibits, and e-blast graphics
• Managing multiple projects from concept to production while adhering to deadlines and budget guidelines
• Assisting the Creative Services team with elements of project management including reaching out to vendors and completing invoices
• Working collaboratively with the Art Director and Multimedia Design Lead on projects to provide effective design; sharing conceptual ideas and implementing creative feedback.
•Maintainingbest practices for efficient workflow and file organization.
• Developing andmaintainingexcellent relationships with PHS staff
• Attending meetings and training sessions.
• Upholding PHS's Values.

Education, practice and expertise Required:
• BFA in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or similar.
• Minimum of2-3years of practice in print and digital advertising, signage, branding, events, or similar.
• practice in static and interactive design.
• Excellent working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
• practice designing and building presentations and templates in PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
• A solid knowledge of the CMYK printing process and practice prepping files for print vendors.
• Strong typography, print, and digital design expertise.
• capability to follow design direction andwork withinbrand guidelines.
• capability to work collaboratively with co-workers toidentifygoals, conceptualize, make suggestions, and gain consensus on creative direction.
• capability to visually communicate effectively andestablisha clear hierarchy of information.
• Attention to detail and accuracy,includingstrongproofreading expertise.
• Excellent planning,verbaland written communication expertise.
• capability to problem solve,work independently, and work as a team member.
• Commitment to the mission of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

Knowledge of the Following a Plus:
• practice with Content Management Systems and familiarity with HTML and CSS.
• expertise in Canva and/or other social media design platforms.
• capability to create custom illustrations.
• practice designing motion graphics.
• practice creating large-format signage.
• Working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro.
• Passion for plants, earth,flowersand gardening.

Other Requirements:
• capability to traverse indoor and outdoor terrain for extended periods of time (up to an hour) if needed, and lift maximum of 20 pounds.Most of the following physical demands arerequiredduring the annual Philadelphia Flower Show.
• capability to worklimitedextended days and flexible hours, as needed, all over the year and in preparation for the annual PHS Philadelphia Flower Show.
• capability to commute into the City of Philadelphia
