Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Sutton Plant Clinic Office position with the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Oregon State University (OSU) We are pursuing a student to work in the molecular lab at the OSU Plant Clinic to assist with plant disease diagnosis. The student will perform DNA and RNA extractions, PCR assays, gel electrophoreses, imaging and annotating gels. The student will also communicate results to the manager, wash labware, autoclave materials, and perform other general lab tasks. The student must be detail oriented and capable of following step-by-step instructions accurately. We are pursuing a team player who is comfortable working independently and able to ask for help when needed. The student must be available to work during spring break and summers. This is a great opportunity for motivated and curious students looking to get hands on training with techniques in molecular biology, to lgain from working researchers, and to solidify expertise learned through coursework.
