Position Description

DEFINITION:
To provide classroom and online instruction to students using multiple teaching strategies and perform accurate assessment of student learning .
Current positions require face to face course instruction.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
   » Receives general supervision from Department Chair, English
   » Exercises no supervision.

tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Functions:
   » Prepare and execute lessons, lectures, activities, and exercises for seated and/or online settings.
   » Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance. Grade and record individual scores.
   » Grade and return assignments and post grades in a prompt manner.
   » Provide prompt and appropriate professional correspondence to students and colleagues.
   » Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance. Maintain other records as required.
Other Important Functions:
   » Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned
   »capability and availability to teach online, hybrid or face to face courses as assigned.
   »capability and availability to work with developmental students.


Qualifications
Appropriate qualifications:
expertise of:
   » Teaching techniques and procedures, including techniques using the internet and technology.
   » Current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment.
   » Principles of test development and administration.
capability To:
   » Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
   » Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
   » Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
   » Making observations
   » Reading and writing
   » Communicating with others
   » Operating assigned equipment
   » Handling varied tasks simultaneously
   » Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned tasks and responsibilities, which may include the following:
   » Standing or sitting for extended periods of time
   » Operating assigned equipment
   » Handling varied tasks simultaneously
   »Physical stamina to teach classes in the face-to-face on campus class.
   » Maintain mental capacity, which allow the capcapability of:
   » Making sound decisions

   » Demonstrating intellectual capabilities
