Organizational Unit Overview The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a clinical science department within the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. As the regions only academic OBGYN department, the primary functions of the department are to teach obstetrics and gynecology to medical students, resident physicians, post graduate students, nurses and other allied health professional, provide evidence-located and comprehensive clinical service to the region, and conduct clinical research featuring our rural mission.

Job tasks The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine is currently seeking to hire a full-time Executive adjunct to join their administrative team. The Executive adjunct works directly with the Department Chair and is responsible for all administrative activities and functions assigned to the Chairman's office, including faculty personnel coordination. This Executive adjunct provides assistance with complex departmental administrative functions to enhance education, research and patient care activities. This position is also the Primary EHRA Faculty Coordinator for the Department of OBGYN.

Minimum Education/practice High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management practice; or Associate degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management practice; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

License or Certification required by statute or regulation None

Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education Previous work practice in an academic setting or as an executive adjunct is preferred.
