Qualified candidates will be contacted as positions become available. Primary duty is the care and maintenance of animals, facilities, and some crop and grazing tasks. Students will be responsible for providing coordinated day-to-day care of the cows and heifers at the Dairy Center. Preferred (Special) Qualifications » No previous dairy practice is required, but is beneficial Working Conditions / Work Schedule » Employee may be exposed to noxious odors, infectious diseases, chemicals, loud noises, slippery floors and machinery » Employee will be exposed to inclement weather conditions » Employee may need to maneuver items that weigh up to 50 pounds » Employee may be required to stoop, bend and kneel to provide care of the animals » Milking shifts begin at 04:00 a.m. and 04:00 p.m and can last from 3.5 - 5.5 hours depending on season and number of newborn calves.
