PlayArtsWe are pursuing a warm, energetic and innovative early childhood educator to join our Club Creative Aftercare program (2:00-6:00pm; ages 2-5) at PlayArts Creative Preschool (Our main location).HOURLY RATE: $20-22/hr function The Lead Teacher function is a part-time, year-round position that includes: » Lead planning, prepping and implementation of developmentally appropriate classroom lessons & activities (paid planning time is provided daily) » Classroom management of preschool children in the classroom and playspace » Ensuring a safe environment for all children, including maintaining teacher:student ratios at all times » Keeping records of students' growth and development (physical, cognitive, socia/emotional) » Collaborating with and providing guidance to Club Creative Aftercare adjunct Teachers » Maintaining consistent communication with teachers and managers through team-wide platforms (ie. Slack, email, etc.) » Maintaining consistent communication with parents (in-person and digitally) » Attending weekly team meetings, Professional Development days, and some additional community meetings scheduled outside school hours » Maintaining a clean and orderly classroom and playspace » Assisting with cleaning, sanitizing, and closing tasks of the facility » Diaper changing tasks and potty training assistance for Older Toddlers that are just beginning in our program, as needed function Requirements: » Minimum HS diploma or GED; College degree preferred, Degree in Early Childhood Education, Degree in Arts Education preferred, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Music, Theater or Art preferred » 1-2 years classroom practice, depending on degree » practice in Theater, Dance, Music or Art Instruction in an early childhood setting preferred » Must have PA State Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry), and FBI Clearance (Fingerprinting) prior to start » Must have Building Blocks (Health & Safety), Mandated Reporter (Child Abuse), and Fire Safety training prior to start » Pediatric 1st Aid & CPR training required within 90 days of start date » Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs » Potty Training (and diaper changing) practice preferred OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE: » Passionate for Early Childhood Education » Enjoys caring for the overall wellbeing of children » Background in child development » We are seeking for candidates that are flexible, creative and collaborative team players that believe in our mission and core values.
