FXCollaborative is an established architectural, interior design, planning, and urban design firm located in Brooklyn, NY. The practice encompasses corporate, civic, cultural, educational, transportation, residential, hospitality, office, retail, and mixed-use projects on a variety of scales.
FXCollaborative is seeking aDirector of Design Technologyto lead efforts in the continuous digital transformation of our practice.The Director of Design Technology provides leadership abilities and guidance on the firm’s overall design technology strategy including BIM & Project Delivery, Modeling & Visualization, Computation & Analysis, and Data Integration. Working closely with firm leadership abilities, IT, and technology champions, the Director is responsible for outlining the company's design technology roadmap, implementing and supporting technology strategies, developing policies and standards, and ensuring that the technological resources are aligned with the firm's business needs. In addition, the Director provides strategy for internal and external messaging and advises project teams on policy and workflows.

Job responsibilities:
   » Lead roadmap and implementation strategies for all design technology areas across the firm.
   » Provide management oversight of BIM Manager & Leads and mentorship to technology champions and workgroups.
   » Present technology strategies and updates to leadership abilities group periodically.
   » Liaison with studio leaders and business units (IT, Legal, HR, Marketing, Operations, and Sustaincapability) to identify design technology needs or impacts.
   » Develop firmwide training, standards, QAQC procedures, coordination, automation, efficiency tools, and content strategies.
   » Provide orientation and onboarding of new hires.
   » Review RFP’s, proposals, and contracts for technology scope.
   » Address technical issues in coordination with staff, software vendors and external resources as needed.
   » Maintain current expertise of design software, industry developments in integrated practice, and other applicable techniques.
   » Attend project design kick-off and provide guidance on technology strategy and opportunities.
   » Manage support of various design technologies.
   » Represent the firm externally at industry events, and assist with PR efforts related to technology.
Requirements:
   » Bachelor degree in Architecture or equivalent practical practice.
   » 5 years design technology leadership abilities with an emphasis on BIM.
   » 10 years industry practice in the design and delivery of projects.
   » Strong management, leadership abilities and communication expertise.
   » practice with BIM management and firm standards/ workflow development.
   » practice teaching others multistep processes related to software.
   » Familiarity with Rhino and visualization tools. (Enscape, Vray, etc.), computation and analysis software (Grasshopper, Dynamo, Ideate Software, Environmental Analysis Tools, etc.), ACAD, Sketchup, Adobe Suite.
   » practice in data management/visualization. BI tools a plus.
   » LEED accreditation preferred.
