Organizational Unit Overview The unit of Learner Operations is a unit situated within the Division of Academic Affairs and is headed by the Associate Provost for Learner Operations. Learner Operations includes Undergraduate Admissions, Admissions Operations, Student Academic Success (Academic Advising and Support; Financial Aid; University Scholarships; Student Academic Success Services; and the Registrar's Office), and Online Learning, Academic Outreach and Academic Innovation. The Associate Provost of Learner Operations also works with divisions, colleges/schools, departments, and offices across campus as part of broader institutional strategic enrollment management and student success efforts and initiatives.

Job tasks This position functions as the Executive adjunct to the Associate Provost for Learner Operations and also engages in major activities and projects requiring public contact, coordination of some administrative tasks involving decision making and judgment. The position serves as a leader and point of information of administrative, business, and clerical staff within Learner Operations. The position anticipates and negotiates solutions for potential problems and routinely coordinates and facilitates communications with internal and external constituents. The position must be highly organized and accurate, able to meet deadlines and work under a certain amount of pressure, and be thoroughly familiar with the organization of ECU, particularly Academic Affairs. The position has public contact with all levels of the university including upper administration, deans, directors, chairs, faculty, and staff of other division offices in addition to contact with a broad range of outside entities and stakeholders. This position will use excellent interpersonal expertise, oral and written communication expertise, analytical expertise, and problem solving expertise. Additionally, the individual in this position will be expected to take initiative, plan ahead, implement decisions, resolve issues, and carry tasks through.

Minimum Education/practice High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management practice; or Associate degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management practice; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
