Job Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Development Engineer position for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU).

The purpose of this position is to support research within the area of cement and concrete science, including thermodynamic and kinetic measurements, characterization and performance testing. This position will manage laboratories and equipment in the cement and concrete materials research group. and provide safety training for students on equipment and required procedures.

What We Require
One year of practice designing, fabricating, testing, modifying, and maintaining new, experimental electronic equipment, instruments, and systems in an instrument laboratory; OR a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent field.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

What We Would Like You to Have
   » Bachelor's degree in science or engineering field or a Bachelor's degree in any field and an Associate's degree in engineering or a related field.
   » First aid training and practice.
   » Background in materials testing using x-ray fluorescence, x-ray diffraction, thermogravimentric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, particle size analysis, acidification, isothermal calorimetry, thermomechanical analysis, electrical resistivity/conductivity, acoustic emission.
   » Background in cement, mortar or concrete testing.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule This position requires the capability to work/move effectively in a laboratory environment, including the capability to lift up to 20 pounds to physically place samples in equipment.
