Morris Adjmi Architects (“MA”) is a multidisciplinary designpractice dedicated to interpreting the historic forces that shapecities to create buildings that stand out by fitting in. MA isrecognized for its creative use of new materials and technologies,sophisticated, sustainable designs, and thoughtful engagement withthe arts. Each design decision is guided by a deep appreciation forand knowledge of the integral architectural, cultural, civic,environmental, and economic forces that shape a project.
A Project Architect (PA) participates in the conceptual designand provides full support through the entire project, liaising withproject management, other architecture/interiors staff, andconsultants. The ADIII/PA may serve as subject matter experts onspecialized systems and/or develop and represent lead technicalviewpoint on projects, coordinating with Project Managers andDirectors on appropriate technical solutions and productstrategies. Project size differentiates this position from thesenior level. Exposure to all phases of the design process isrequired.

Core Responsibilities
Project Design and Planning
   » Collaborate on overall design concepts and carry forward theestablished design direction
   » Understand the MA Project Road Map, project Deliverables byPhase, and Responsibility Matrix (when applicable) as well asproject contract, scope, and budget
   » Thoroughly understand and follow the project plan and schedule(including phase deadlines, filing milestones, meetingdeliverables, and staff plans, functions and responsibilities)
   » Prepare detailed mock-up (or cartoon) set and assign staffaccordingly
Project Administration
   » Team Meetings
   » Establish recurring staff, client, and consultant meetings
   » Assist with distributing agendas, meeting minutes, and trackingaction items
   » Internal Management
   » Mentor, motivate and provide guidance to less practicedcolleagues
   » Provide regular design and project updates to Project Managerand manager
   » Consultant Management
   » Lead consultant coordination amongst all disciplines
   » Foster cross discipline communication
   » Client Management
   » Be a secondary point of contact, manage expectations and ensuresatisfaction
   » Contractor Management
   » Be the primary point of contact for RFIs, submittals, andcorrespondence
   » Notify Project Manager about all signed/seal documents beforedistribution
   » Know the contractor’s contract responsibilities
Project Documentation
   » Manage the project documentation for all phases includingmodels and renderings
   » Monitor the documentation for compliance with building code andaccessibility requirements
   » Research and select appropriate materials and products
   » Develop project specific construction details
   » Communicate with the MA project team and consultants to ensuretechnically accurate and well-coordinated documents consistent withthe design intent
   » Work with specifications writer to prepare comprehensivespecifications
   » Create and maintain Drawing List
   » Create Cartoon Set
   » Review consultant sets and coordinate prior to the release ofdrawings for each phase
Quality Control
   » Comply with MA Presentation Standards and ProjectChecklists
   » Schedule QA/QC reviews as per the MA Project Road Map
   » Have a strong knowledge of local building codes andaccessibility requirements
   » Implement BIM Execution plan and coordination
   » Archive and conduct BIM audits at regular intervals
   » Archive project emails and maintain standard server fileorganization
   » Self-check own work
Construction Administration
   » Participate in onsite OAC meetings
   » Review submittals for compliance with design intent andmaintain log
   » Respond to RFI's and maintain log
   » Conduct site observations and prepare Field Reports
   » Prepare Punch List
   » Act as point of contact for General Contractor

Qualifications
Education :
Professional degree in Architecture
ADIII: Actively taking the Architectural Registration Exams
PA: Licensure required
Other accreditations encouraged (LEED, WELL, Passivehouse)

8+ years of related practice
expertise :
Mastery in 3D modeling using software such as Revit, Rhino,AutoCAD, and SketchUp Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite(Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), MS Office, Bluebeam
