Minimum Qualifications

   » Master's degree in public administration, business administration, marketing, or a related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

   » Preferably, a minimum of 10 years of practice including significant work with government relations, communications, marketing, executive office management, and higher education practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and practice.

 

Position Description

The Vice President holds a pivotal position within the President's Executive leadership abilities Team (ELT), reporting directly to the President. this function spearheads all governance, legal, and legislative initiatives, serving as a vital link to the Board of Trustees and the College's legislative representatives. Moreover, the Vice President assumes responsibility for implementing and advocating approved policies to the Board and significant state agencies. In addition, this position supervises comprehensive public relations endeavors across the college community, encompassing internal and external communications, marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and the development of branded promotional materials. Furthermore, the function supervises the College's information services and public safety operations, ensuring alignment with the institution's strategic objectives and efficacy endeavors.

Example of tasks
   » Implements rigorous self-monitoring and internal assessment mechanisms to foster continuous enhancement toward departmental objectives.
   » Guides and empowers staff through task prioritization, workload allocation, performance assessments, and adherence to established policies and protocols.
   » Assumes a leadership abilities function in internal operations, steering the development, endorsement, planning, coordination, and administration of programs, projects, processes, and policies.
   » Crafts comprehensive long-term plans, goals, and objectives, aligning them closely with Presidential and Cabinet priorities while deciphering organizational needs to establish corresponding objectives.
   » Formulates and manages budgets and grants, meticulously allocating resources and scrutinizing expenditures.
   » Evaluates and authorizes a myriad of multifaceted information, data, and reports; draws conclusions from findings; endorses reports destined for external entities and regulatory bodies.
   » Ensures strict adherence to governance regulations and mandates for state agencies.
   » Participates actively on the President's Executive leadership abilities Team, Cabinet, and other pertinent committees as required.
   » Assists in drafting and superviseing the president's office budget, and supervises the president's office personnel, including task delegation and project management.
   » Acts as the primary liaison between the Board and staff, superviseing all processes related to Ethics Act compliance and mandatory trustee training.
   » Orchestrates high-priority projects across college divisions, ensuring punctual delivery and providing constructive feedback.
   » supervises policy and procedure administration processes.
   » Attends and facilitates various committee meetings.
   » Sets the agenda for meetings necessitating presidential presence.
   » Manages the calendar and logistical aspects of Board meetings.
   » Trains support staff on document preparation and presentation protocols.
   » supervises college-wide events and connected financial allocations.
   » Maintains meticulous legal records mandated by the Board.
   » Provides visionary leadership abilities for internal and external communications, marketing endeavors, and public relations initiatives.
   » Spearheads legislative advocacy campaigns at local, state, and national levels.
   » Guides the college's facilities, information services, and public safety teams to foster innovation and advance strategic priorities and efficacy endeavors.
