Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill 20 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Our Little Village Employee positions for the Our Little Village Early Care & Education Centers (OLV) at Oregon State University (OSU). OLV Early Care & Education (ECE) Centers are hiring student employees to work during Summer 2024 and the 2024-2025 school year. There are opportunities to work in the morning, afternoon, evening and/or weekend with children ages 5 months through 10 years. There will also be opportunities to sub at other ECE centers operated by the Family Resource Center (Dixon Kits and Azalea). Our Little Village is an endeavor that is providing an unprecedented service to students with children at two locations, Milne and Dixon. At OLV, student parents can drop of their child(ren) at free of charge (student incidental fees are funding the program), while they workout at Dixon, attend a class, complete homework, go to a meeting on campus, etc. Additionally, OSU employees can pay for their child(ren) to attend OLV, so they can work. Position tasks The student employees at Our Little Village Early Care & Education Centers are the main staff of the centers. Under the guidance and direct/indirect supervision of the Site Coordinator and Asst. Site Coordinator, the student employees are primarily responsible for the welfare of the children in the centers and providing a fun, safe and engaging classroom environment. As such, students are required to carry out numerous tasks related to the care of children along with a fellow student employee. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: » Interfacing with parents about their children and building relationships with families » Caring for a variety of ages of children at the same time » Creating a welcoming, caring, inclusive and safe environment for all children, parents, and fellow staff members » Performing opening and closing tasks » Maintaining scheduled hours » Changing diapers » Making and/or warming up bottles and feeding to babies » Adhering to sanitation requirements » Problem solving, conflict resolution and decision making with children, parents and fellow student employees » Encouraging growth and development of children by engaging with and offering age appropriate activities » Working with children, families and employees from diverse backgrounds OLV ECE Teachers may also be used as substitutes ECE Aides at any of the other Family Resource Center ECE centers on the Corvallis campus.
