Posting DetailsPosition InformationPosting Number: 20112764 Position Title: Student Support Specialist, Academic Coaching FTE: 1.0 Employment type: Staff Department: Center for Academic Success Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function: The Student Support Specialist for Academic Coaching is a full-time professional staff position who is responsible for managing the student staff and assisting with the day-to-day operations of academic coaching, which is an academic skills building program designed to help students succeed at Lamar University. This position reports to the adjunct Director of Academic Support and collaborates broadly within STAR Services, as well as across campus with academic and student service departments, faculty, and staff. What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities » Hire, train, and supervise academic coaching staff utilizing College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) guidelines and standards » Assist the adjunct Director with developing, implementing, and managing academic coaching and Success Ambassador programs » Create and supervise schedules and sessions for peer academic coaches » Provide academic coaching and academic support workshops and presentations » Participate in professional development and academic coaching and student success research » Assist with assessing, evaluating, and growing programs » Utilize EAB Navigate system for appointments, communication, and reporting » Assist with advancing partnerships with multiple departments and individuals across campus » Assist with marketing and promoting services Who We Are: Lamar University is an accessible global university for life-long learners with a passion for broad-located community engagement.
