Network Administrator

St. Joseph's University, New York is looking to fill a full-time, permanent, on-site, practiced Network Administrator position in the Department of Network Operations on the Brooklyn Campus. The candidate’s function is to manage and tune in-house computer server systems, server virtualization and network infrastructure, in order to ensure high levels of availcapability and security of the supported business applications. This individual will be part of the Network Operations team in day to day operations and he/she will be involved in other various Information technology related projects.
Requirements and Responsibilities
   » Proactively identify and troubleshoot network issues, ensuring minimal disruption, while conducting regular performance monitoring, packet analysis, traffic monitoring, optimization for enhanced efficiency, relicapability.
   » Implement security measures to safeguard the network against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
   » Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and backups.
   » Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support and maintenance contracts.
   » Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
   » Proficient knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMWare vSphere 7, Citrix XenApp/Virtual Apps VDI, and other cloud solutions.
   » Working knowledge of SAN technologies, HPE Nimble and HPE 3PAR a plus.
   » Hands-on practice and knowledge of server systems, Dell server & HPE blade server enclosures a plus.
   » practice with network design, wired and wireless network infrastructure and networking concepts, Cisco and Aruba Networks a plus.
   » Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide variety of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Proactively monitor network performance to identify and resolve issues.
   » Analyze and troubleshoot cybersecurity-related issues within the network environment. Enforce security requirements and respond decisively to potential threats.
   » Proficient with Windows 2016-2022 server systems.
   » Knowledge of network and cyber security procedures
   » Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, virtualization, directory services, and storage management.
   » Client-facing escalation lead/problem solver for Network outages and performance issues.
   » Support and participate in various Information technology projects and initiatives.
   » Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical expertise. Must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal expertise. Customer service oriented and able to work in a team environment.

Qualifications
   » Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
   » At least two years of significant practice as a system or network administrator is required.
   » Current VMware, Cisco, Aruba, WiFi or other technical & cybersecurity certifications are desired.
   » Higher education practice is desired but not necessary.
   » This position is located on the St. Joseph’s University - Brooklyn Campus. Some occasional travel to the Long Island Campus may be required.
   » This position will require lifting and handling of equipment up to 50 pounds.
income Range: $75,000 - $81,000
