About the function The Project Architect (PA) is integral to the success of projects at GGLO. They are responsible for translating design concepts into tangible reality, superviseing aspects of the project from schematic design to construction documents. Balancing a big-picture perspective with attention to detail, the PA ensures the technical clarity, completeness, and accuracy of project documents, crucial for project success. Their coordination of various project aspects ensures the delivery of exceptional design accompanied by impeccable documentation. Essential tasks & Responsibilities » Responsible for specific areas of the project design and development as assigned by project leaders » Responsible for developing project drawings, models, images, and documents as directed by project leaders » Understand design decisions and formulate these into presentations for discussion » Maintain thorough knowledge of and compliance with GGLO procedures, technology, and standards » Assist where required in the coordination of the internal design team » Responsible for coordination and communication with members of the external design team and other connected organizations or companiesto ensure project objectives are met within budget and schedule constraints » Mentor junior staff members and provide support and guidance as needed » Maintain meticulous documentation of design decisions and communications » Evaluate, record, and advise the project team on jurisdictional building codes and regulations » Remain current on evolving and innovative building technologies relative to mid-rise podium buildings About You » Proficiency across technology platforms and architectural software, including Revit and Rhino » Proficiency with a variety of media for the development and documentation of a design project » Technical capability and practice to deliver high-quality architectural projects on time and within budget » Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and mid-rise construction practices » Proactive approach to everyday tasks in response to direction or instruction » capability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment » capability to work both independently and in collaboration with others as part of an effective team » Effective communication expertise to keep tasks and teams on track » Meticulous documentation and recordkeeping » knowledge of financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget » capability to recognize and protect sensitive and confidential information » Resiliency to work effectively under pressure, managing and resolving conflicting demands » capability to maintain a professional and calm demeanor under pressure » Effective communication and patience to manage and mentor more junior staff members Education and practice » Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, or a closely related field » Current Registered Architect license (WA, CA, ID, OR states preferred) » 8-12 years of practice in architectural design, managing coordination and documentation of mid-rise multi-family Type III and/or Type V podium design projects » Proven track record of delivering high-quality architectural projects on time and within budget » Demonstrated knowledge of the architect’s function in the coordination and integration of project information and management » practice documenting and presenting graphic and written presentations Benefits We offer a generous benefits package including: » Paid time off including vacation, discretionary, bereavement, and nine holiday days of your choice » Robust health benefit options including fully paid employee medical, vision and dental insurance » Short and Long-term Discapability insurance » Generous paid Life and AD&D insurance » 401K with an employer match program » Transit subsidy program » Employee Assistance Program This is an Exempt Salaried with a base rate of $85,000-$95,000 annually, located upon factors including but not limited to candidate practice, knowledge, and expertiseet.
