How will your days be spent » Maintainproject responsibility for planning exercises. Responsible forplanning issues, including operational models, staffing models,departmental relationships, and programming parameters. » Verify and mentorother science planners on functional and space programs for labfacilities as needed. Direct staff in developing lab programmingand planning parameters including lab functional models, labstaffing, departmental relationships, and detailed lab design forclient presentation. » With a masteryknowledge of the latest laboratory furniture systems, labequipment and its impact on research areas, help clients/usersdetermine appropriate equipment placement andselection. » Conduct client anduser group meetings for needs assessment and implement lab planningdocumentation. » Understand theprinciples of sustainable design. Incorporate those principles inall planning and design decisions. » Assist the ProjectManager with project schedule, budget, and profitcapability. Assumeresponsibility for ensuring that staffing, budgets, andprofitcapability targets are met. Lead cost estimating for projects.supervise the shop drawing review process to ensure the design intentis met. What you bring to this function practice: » Minimumof twelve (12) years of recent science planning practice with afocus on master planning, programming, and developing large complexlaboratory facilities required. » Abroad base of practice with a focus in science and technologyfacilities for academic, bio-pharmaceutical, government, or processplanning preferred. » Projectscompleted with multiple clients ideal. » Knowledge ofcodes, standards and guidelines as related to laboratories,individual municipalities, State, IBC, ADA, ANSI, NFPA, NSF, cGMP,and cGLP. Software: » Revitproficiency required. » Previouspractice with AutoCAD preferred. suitable education » connectedegree in architecture, engineering, planning or related fieldrequired; architectural degree preferred. » Professionalregistration preferred. » Sustaincapabilityaccreditation preferred.
