Minimum Qualifications

Requirements:
A Master's degree in French OR a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in French.
At least one year of post-secondary teaching practice in French.
Strong written and spoken expertise in both French and English.

Position Description

This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses.
Responsibilities and tasks (*Essential Functions)
to execute this job prosperously, an individual must be able to execute the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to execute the primary job functions herein described.
* Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
* Maintains accurate records of students work and attendance
* Prepares thoroughlyfor each instructional hour
* Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
* Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
* Tutors, assists students, and develops/presents workshops at the Language Center as assigned
* Administers Placement Exams as needed
Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
Maintains regular office hours
Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
Uses assessments technique to improve learning and teaching
Serves on college or department committees as needed
Attends professional development opportunities when possible
Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus
Maintains a safe, collaborative, and respectful working environment
Collects and reports student learning outcome data as directed by division Dean
Demonstrates good management and care of college/departmental resources
Participates in graduation exercises

Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently

Able to execute normal tasks with minimal supervision
Excellent communication expertise both written and verbal in both French and English
Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential.
