Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Baro Campus Editor positions for the Orange Media Network (OMN) at Oregon State University (OSU). The Campus Editor is responsible for collaborating with the editor-in-chief of The everyday Barometer to coordinate and produce campus-related content for the print publication and various online platforms including dailybarometer.com. Position tasks Responsibilities » Responsible for curating, pitching, editing, assigning and reporting for The everyday Barometer, both in print and online, in a timely manner (stories will include investigations, cover stories, hard news, breaking news and significant feature stories). » Ensure that all students who submit articles, photos, podcasts, and video receive coaching and feedback prior to publishing, so they can lgain and improve » Plan and hold weekly cohort meetings to assign tasks and supervise other activity as needed » Assist in completing print editions by deadline » Be available for flexible hours, including nights, weekends and academic breaks » Post everyday to The everyday Barometer social media accounts, under the direction of the EIC and Marketing » Assist the EIC in hiring, supervising and managing a team » Act in a professional manner at all times » Other tasks as assigned Communication » Respond to emails, messages, team chats and phone calls the same day, professionally representing OMN » Ensure you are using, checking and responding to project management platform (Basescamp, Discord, etc.) » Work 20 regular in-office hours each week for Orange Media Network, at least half of these hours should be during regular business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday).
