Position Summary Information

Position Summary: The Coordinator of leadership abilities and Student Organizations reports to the adjunct Director for Student Life & Engagement. Alongside the adjunct Director, this function provides oversight, advisor support, and organizational development for registered student organizations.

This position has primary responsibility for implementing campus-wide leadership abilities programs, superviseing student organization registration and agent training, and managing the student engagement platform. A prosperous candidate will have strong interpersonal expertise to be able to identify, assess, and mediate conflict, problem solve, and propose appropriate solutions.

Primary tasks and Job responsibilities: Student Organization Management
-Provide leadership abilities for all student organizations, including the annual registration, maintenance of records, contracts and correspondence, as well as monitoring the new student organization process
-Coordinate student organization involvement at campus orientations and recruitment events
-Assist as needed with the review and development of policies and procedures related to student organizations and risk avoidance/harm reduction
-Serve as the advisor to the Student Organization Council
-Supervise the Student Organization Council budget allocations procedures
Serve as a subject matter expert to on and off-campus advisors, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members on student organizations and engagement
-Provide support to student organization advisors as needed
-supervise operations and updates to the engagement platform utilized by student organizations
-Coordinate educational programming for registered student organizations

leadership abilities and Programming
-Provide leadership abilities and coordination for the planning of all campus-wide non-academic leadership abilities programs, retreats, and seminars for students, student organizations, and agents
-Plan and implement an annual campus-wide, student-led leadership abilities conference
-Serve as the primary campus advisor to the National Society of leadership abilities and Success
-Organize programming that supports student engagement and involvement in student organizations and departmental events
-Facilitate collaborative partnerships with faculty and other departments to engage students in leadership abilities programming

Departmental and Division
-Represent the Department of Student Life & Engagement at orientation and recruitment events
-Support the Department of Student Life & Engagement in major campus-wide programs as appropriate
-Support the adjunct Director in planning and implementation of strategic initiatives
-Develop marketing materials and strategies to enhance engagement and leadership abilities opportunities on campus
-Maintain open communications with the adjunct Director for Student Life and Engagement to share information and engage in problem-solving and creative thinking
-Stay informed and educate the University community and stakeholders as needed regarding issues, trends, and regulations impacting student organizations
-Participate in related professional organizations for continuing development
-Maintain a budget in conformity with University policies and procedures
-Other tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements:

-Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization
- A minimum of two (2) years of previous work practice in a higher education setting (Student Affairs);
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making expertise
-expertise of best practices within student support, engagement, and leadership abilities
-expertise that exemplify collaboration, communication, action, and advocacy.
-capability to lead, develop, and work with a diverse staff.
-Advanced oral and written communication expertise.
-capability to administer multiple deadlines and tasks.
-Demonstrated capability to analyze and assess data.

Preferred expertise and Appropriate qualifications:

· Master's degree, and at least 2 years of related practice as a full-time professional or graduate adjunct.
· Excellent presentation expertise.
· Excellent writing expertise.
· practice with leading special initiatives, programs, and strategic planning.
