Primary Purpose of Department Aligned with the institutional goals from UNC Charlotte's 2021-31 strategic plan to ?provide students a unique, comprehensive, intellectually rigorous education?, ?achieve national prominence as an emerging, top-tier research university?, and ?advance the research mission by recruiting, nurturing, and retaining world-class, diverse faculty, staff, and students?, the Faculty Affairs unit will work to increase faculty success, amplify the recognition of faculty accomplishments, enhance faculty practices, and foster collaboration.

Primary Purpose of Position The position is responsible for independently performing a wide variety of complex Human Resources actions, for full-time faculty positions recruitment, appointments, record creation process, compensation, special pay for Full-time Faculty positions and providing process consultation services in the Academic Division. This position will conduct position review/analysis connected with the establishment of new EHRA Full-time faculty positions, the modification of existing EHRA Full-time faculty positions, and all corresponding income administration consistent with Federal, State, System Office, and University guidelines and policies. The position is responsible for the Academic Affairs Division, recruitment and hiring actions in Niner Talent for Full-time Faculty and Staff positions. Provides support and consultative services to departments as regards potential full-time faculty position design or classification needs.

Summary of Position Responsibilities
   » Responsible for Academic Affairs Division review, validation, and approval of Special Pay request for Full-time faculty positions in Niner Works following established procedure to ensure the accuracy of faculty data, compensation, and provide feedback for college business support staff. This includes processing PD7, updating tracking log, to ensure its accurate and track faculty pay and faculty data, to make sure that the 3/9 full time faculty compensation is adhered to.
   » Responsible for supporting Full-time faculty program by managing and setting submission deadlines in collaboration with other university central and academic office timelines. This position serves the subject matter expert (SME) and Administrative Superuser for EPAF approvals and processing.
   » Responsible for maintaining the EPAF workflow system for all EHRA Full-Time Faculty job assignments, checks information on EPAFs for accuracy, advises customers with procedural questions, and has the authority to return EPAFS when incorrect.
   » Provides training to the end user on the EPAF system twice a year and on an individual basis as needed.
   » Serves as the division level Administrative Superuser and EPAF administrator for all full-time faculty and special payment errors. Has the capability to utilize E-Print to access error reports, capability to recognize errors, then researches and analyzes specific errors and advises on processes to correct errors. Works under tight payroll deadlines to meet payroll dates. Project management responsibilities include the authority to review and approve or disapprove Approver level access in Banner.
   » Responsible for Academic Affairs Division, recruitment and hiring actions in Niner Talent to ensure all payroll actions meet payroll and deadlines and provide feedback for college business support staff. Annually administer in-depth training on system access, full-time faculty guidelines and policies, as well as on-demand and scheduled training for new faculty administrators and business office staff. Responsible for review of new full-time faculty hires in Niner Talent.
   » Analyzes the posting process for completion and responsible for compliance related tasks for posting information, EEO and applicant reporting to comply with audit procedures.
   » Responsible for supporting classification review, analysis, and determination of positions submitted for establishment or reallocation of positions. Applies sound principles of job measurement (position analysis) and income administration and design. This position supports determining equitable income adjustments in compliance with State policy and/or System Office guidelines as requests are submitted. Conducts equity analysis/comparisons to determine if equity requests are eligible for approval.
   » Manages the creation of full-time faculty positions records in Niner Talent, Banner HR, and Perceptive Content.
   » Utilizes in-depth expertise of all Federal (FLSA, ADA, Equal Pay Act, etc,), State (General Statute 126), System Office, and University legal mandates, policies, procedures, to provide guidance to full-time faculty positions.
Minimum Education/practice
   » Bachelor's degree in a business related field, or Public Administration, Human Resources, and three years of practice related to the area of assignment; or related business area equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Education, expertise, expertise and practice
   » Prior Human Resources or project management practice at a University
   » Excellent written and oral communication expertise
   » practice using Human Resource Information Systems (PeopleAdmin, Banner HR and Finance)
   » Advanced level Microsoft Office Suite practice with demonstrable expertise in the use of Excel.
