Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill six part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Services Peer Advisor for the College of Business Department at Oregon State University (OSU).

The College of Business is hiring Peer Advisors for its Student Success Center. We need these students to start a few weeks before Fall 2024 Term.

Hourly Pay is $15.20.

Position tasks 75% Front Office Reception

-Assisting undergraduate students, faculty and the public, in person and via multiline phone reception, email and Zoom
-Maintain advisor schedules through various applications which include Salesforce, Outlook, Bookings and BeaverHub
-Monitor and answer inquiries coming into Student Services email daily
-Maintain advisor drop-in lists
-Photocopies, faxes, scanning, and process mail
-Answer questions regarding all programs within the COB, which include Business and Design majors and minors
-Special projects as assigned

25% Peer Advising of COB Undergraduate Majors

-Assist students at front desk or in separate office with registration and program related questions
-This could involve any of the following:
-Provide the common PIN to continuing students (No athletes, military, DAS, etc.)
-Explaining how satisfactory/unsatisfactory, and withdraw grades work
-Explain registration restrictions and phases
-Help with registration issues during current term
-Explain policies/procedures to students (second take policy, key dates during term, 180/60 credit requirements, how to change major, etc.)
-Know and share deadlines for MECOP, Exchange, apparel/interior design applications
-Know how to enroll students in Dual Partnership Program and provide online articulation table guidance
-Explain how to navigate in and interpret MyDegrees
-Explain the waitlist process
-Registration process, how to look up registration time/date
-Abide by all FERPA privacy laws and guidelines
-Conduct presentations with an advisor
-Participate in Welcome with the Dean and first year engagement activities
-May have access to professional development opportunities if students can attend and Information technology is preapproved

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
