Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (10-24 hours per week during the academic year, then a maximum of 40 hours per week during an academic break) Student Technical adjunct positions for the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology (EMT) at Oregon State University (OSU) within the Superfund Research Center ( https://superfund.oregonstate.edu/ ).

Position tasks Student will work closely with Drs. Raffaele De Amicis, Stacey Harper and Craig Marcus to enable virtual reality programming.

50% - Programming and virtual reality visualization development

25% - Virtual reality learning module development - at Superfund Research Program sites and remediation facilities

25% - Virtual reality learning module - focused on laboratory tools and technologies applied to Superfund Research Program related research.

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » Most work is done in a computer laboratory setting.
   » Students will work around hazardous chemicals in the research laboratories so Appropriate safety gear and training will be provided.
   » Flexible hours as needed to complete modules in a timely manner, with consideration for student's class schedule and variable workload during winter and spring terms.
