Job Summary This is an Internal Employment Opportunity. The Linus Pauling Institute invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term, Faculty Research adjunct position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director. This position will assist with research experiments and drug development. This position will also include data management, analysis, and other miscellaneous laboratory work. This work is primarily for a group of research projects that are funded through an OSU Foundation donation. Key Responsibilities 20% -Manage and organize the laboratory, including scheduling experiments and student participation, maintaining the records, lab cleanliness and organization, and complying with EHS's and other safety regulations. This work directly supports the PI. 40% - Manage mouse breeding colony and perform experiments, including but not limited to: behavioral testing, genotyping, injections, Western blotting and Orobouros. 40% - Drug development - chemical synthesis and new synthesis development. What You Will Need » Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry-related major. » Three years of practice in laboratory research work involving mouse behavioral testing and treatment and Western blotting. » practice with computers. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
